TV aerials & brackets
The aerials we install are all digitally approved. This means that they are manufactured and designed to meet a set criteria as set out by the TV aerial industries governing body, The CAI (The Confederation of Aerial Industries.)

It is important that a quality aerial and it`s installation is considered when asking a company for a quotation.

Ask the company the following questions before you get a quote:

1. Is the aerial digitally approved?

2. Will the cable be replaced for digitally approved quality low loss cable(we only use CAI approved ct100 type cable on all our installations, whatever colour you want as long as it is black, brown or white!) Most old cable or cheap imported cable that has not been benchmark tested by the CAI will simply give high signal loss over certain lengths.

3. Are all brackets used painted steel(that rusts after a couple of years) or is it galvanised or aluminium that will last much longer?

4. Are the engineers that arrive trained to work at heights? The CAI and the Health and Safety have now put into place a system for engineers to safely get on and off a roof using safety harness type equipment, not all companies are trained and some that are don`t implement the use of such equipment.

5. Does the company have public liability insurance cover up to £5 million to cover accidental damage?

6. Is the aerial aligned using a spectrum analyser?

This is a lot for you to ask over the phone.

Our reply would be "YES!!" to all the above. Now you can be assured of a quality installation with excellent after service.

We can supply the latest `FREEVIEW` box. There are lots of makes out there, be aware that some brands are not as good as others. We have receivers on display and have tested various models for the best features and signal reception. You can purchase some boxes that do not have TV picture `loop thru`. This makes it difficult to send the picture from the Freeview box to another room.

Some boxes have a twin tuner facility that allows you to watch one station whilst you record the other onto the receivers built in hard drive(`video recorder`.)
